EGCG is a polyphenolic compound, extracted from green tea. It is the main component of green tea polyphenols and the main component of green tea catechins. It is the most potent antioxidant polyphenol in green tea and has antioxidant activity. Its ability of antioxidant is at least 100 times more potent than vitamin C and 25 times more potent than vitamin E.
