Agaricus Blazei Murill is a mushroom that contains a special class of polysaccharides known as "beta glucans".The Agaricus blazei in this product is extracted with the preferred hot water / alcohol method to increase the bioavailability of the polysaccharides. Originally discovered in Brazil, Agaricus blazei has been widely consumed in many countries, where it is regarded as a kind of health food.

The Agaricus blazei polysaccharides appear to activate a type of white blood cell known as macrophage. The function of macrophages is to filter the blood by destroying viruses, bacteria, and perhaps even cancer cells.
