Physiological Functions
Black Fungus Extract is very famous because of its anticoagulant activity. The polysaccharide from Black Fungus contains mainly mannose, glucose, glucuronic acid and xylose but no sulfate esters. Its anticoagulant activity was due to catalysis of thrombin inhibition by antithrombin but not by heparin cofactor II. Inhibition of Factor Xa by antithrombin was not catalyzed by the polysaccharide. The glucuronic acid residues were essential for the anticoagulant action of the mushroom polysaccharide since the activity disappeared after reduction of its carboxyl groups. In ex vivo tests using rats orally fed with the polysaccharide, we observed an inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation as observed with aspirin, a well-known antiplatelet agent. The polysaccharides from these mushrooms may constitute a new source of compounds with action on coagulation, platelet aggregation and, perhaps, on thrombosis.
Black fungus extract is derived from the wood ear mushroom, a type of edible fungus with numerous health benefits. The extract is obtained by processing and concentrating the bioactive compounds present in the fungus.
Black fungus extract is known for its rich content of polysaccharides, which are complex carbohydrates that have shown potential health-promoting properties. Polysaccharides found in black fungus extract are believed to have immunomodulatory effects, meaning they can help regulate and support the immune system.
Moreover, black fungus extract is also a source of antioxidants, which can protect the body against harmful free radicals and oxidative stress. These antioxidants may contribute to reducing inflammation and supporting overall well-being.
Studies have suggested that black fungus extract may have potential anti-tumor properties and could inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells. However, further research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms involved and its potential applications in cancer treatment.
In traditional Chinese medicine, black fungus extract has been used for its purported ability to promote blood circulation and improve cardiovascular health. It is believed to help reduce cholesterol levels, prevent blood clot formation, and support healthy blood pressure.
Black fungus extract is available in various forms, including capsules, powders, and liquid extracts. It is often used as a dietary supplement or as an ingredient in functional foods and beverages promoting immune support and overall health.
As with any dietary supplement, it is important to consult a healthcare professional before incorporating black fungus extract into your routine, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking medication.
Overall, black fungus extract harnesses the potential health benefits of the wood ear mushroom, offering a concentrated form of bioactive compounds that may support immune function, provide antioxidant protection, and contribute to overall wellness.
